The path from dreams to success does exist

Kalpana Chawla 1962-2003

Opened in April 2016, the MakersBox Lab in Partnership with the Haryana Government at Karnal is a 2500 square foot facility, with a full fledged Maker Space equipped with 3D Printers, Mechanical and Woodworking Tools, Soldering Stations, as well as Open Source Hardware from Arduino and Raspberry Pi. With a Free Access to School Children of the City of Karnal, the maker space has 2 full time managers who help children understand the concepts of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Maths and helping them take their rough sketches to products.

A full fledged store on site keeps all the spares and tools that the children may need, and a quarterly subscription of the MakersBox Making and Tinkering Curriculum ensures that there are some fresh projects to work on.

We also have a Media Room as a part of the MakerSpace, where our Makers can collaborate with other makers, watch videos, and work on larger projects.

A 24 Seat Classroom works for summer classes and large school reachouts, where school kids come over in groups to demistify STEAM  and learn some more.

A better city could not have been chosen to launch MakersBox’s Government Partnership Programs, than the City of Birth of Kalpana Chawla, India’s First Woman in Space
